Over the past decade, InfraTec has expanded the capabilities of its infrared cameras with motorized zoom, enabling thermographic imaging at extended distances. The newly introduced teleextender, now compatible with the compact ImageIR 6300 Z, multiplies optical reach by 1.5 times while only increasing the minimum focus distance. Unlike the larger ImageIR 8300 Z and 9300 Z which excel in fixed installations, the 6300 Z stands out for its lightweight mobility.

InfraTec Launches Teleextender for Compact ImageIR 6300 Z Camera

For over ten years, InfraTecs motor-zoom infrared cameras have enabled thermal imaging. Now a teleextender for the compact ImageIR(R) 6300 Z increases optical reach by 1.5× with only a slight rise in minimum focus distance. Weighing just 2.5 kilograms when fitted, this extension maintains portability. While the larger ImageIR(R) 8300 Z and 9300 Z deliver fixed installations with extreme focal lengths, the 6300 Z excels in mobile and flexible field operations.

InfraTecs infrared cameras featuring motorized zoom have enabled long-range thermal imaging for over a decade. The newly released teleextender for the compact ImageIR 6300 Z enlarges optical reach by 1.5 times virtually seamlessly, ensuring that details can be captured from significantly greater distances without sacrificing clarity. This accessory imposes only a slight increase in the minimum focus distance, preserving the cameras versatility and performance in mobile and stationary applications.

ImageIR 8300 Z and 9300 Z feature 30× zoom

Out-of-the-box radiometric zoom cameras ImageIR 8300 Z and 9300 Z feature a high-precision 30× zoom lens with a focal range of 28 to 850 mm. This configuration enables detection of human subjects at distances of up to 17.7 km under ideal conditions. For exceptionally demanding surveillance operations, the optional teleextender multiplies the maximum focal length to 1350 mm, augmenting the detection range to approximately 23.2 km and ensuring detailed thermographic imagery over extended distances.

ImageIR 8300Z and 9300Z Zoom Range Increases System Weight

The extensive focal length span of the ImageIR 8300 Z and 9300 Z increases the overall camera assembly weight substantially. This added mass reduces portability and requires the use of heavy-duty tripods, precision pan-tilt heads, and additional mounting hardware to ensure accurate positioning and stable imaging. Users must account for extended setup times, transportation constraints, and anchoring procedures when deploying these radiometric zoom systems in remote locations or field environments.

ImageIR 6300 Z Weighs 2kg, Enables 6.1km Person Detection

Leveraging advanced SWaP detector and cryogenic cooler technologies, the ImageIR 6300 Z reduces its total system mass to just under two kilograms, optimizing portability for field operations. Its integrated 15 to 115 millimeter motorized zoom lens, paired with a high-sensitivity MWIR detector, delivers person detection capabilities at distances exceeding 6.1 kilometers. This configuration ensures versatile, long-range thermographic measurements without compromising on ergonomic design or efficiently tailored operations.

Teleextender increases ImageIR 6300 Z weight and detection range

Including the Teleextender extends the ImageIR 6300 Zs overall length from 225.5 millimeters to 259 millimeters and adds only 0.5 kilogram for a total system weight of 2.5 kilograms. The additional optical component boosts the effective focal length to 170 millimeters, enabling reliable human detection at distances up to 8.2 kilometers. Its intuitive, tool-free attachment and detachment mechanism supports rapid configuration adjustments, accommodating diverse operational requirements across various field scenarios.

ImageIR 6300 Z delivers unmatched flexibility across inspection environments

Whether equipped with the Teleextender or operating in its standard configuration, the ImageIR 6300 Z delivers adaptability across diverse thermal imaging tasks. Its compact design and SWaP-optimized components empower users to perform long-range surveillance and aerial thermography with precision. This versatile camera supports detailed small-component inspections in research laboratories, quality assurance under controlled environments, automated production line monitoring, and seamless integration into engineering systems for thermal analysis and process automation.

InfraTec ImageIR Series Delivers Superior Quality, Range, Mobility, Reliability

InfraTecs ImageIR 6300 Z, 8300 Z and 9300 Z series combine exceptional thermal imaging quality with adaptable focal lengths and extendable range enabled by the optional Teleextender. The larger 8300 Z and 9300 Z models provide fixed-installation deployment with unrivalled detection capabilities and stability, while the compact 6300 Z prioritizes lightweight portability and intuitive operation. These infrared camera systems deliver solutions for applications, balancing detection range, operational flexibility and performance.
