ITC PowerCommerce(R) Netz enhances modular portal automating connection processes

ITC AG has enhanced its ITC PowerCommerce(R) Netz software with functionality to streamline application and registration procedures for network connections and generation equipment. The modular portal solution provides installers with an access interface while fully complying with all legal requirements and BDEW guidelines. Its open platform architecture and universal adapter framework facilitate seamless integration of diverse data sources and third-party systems into a scalable, future-proof infrastructure designed for market requirements.

January 2024 NAV Requires Utilities Provide Online Connection Portal

Since January 1, 2024, the Low Voltage Connection Ordinance (§§ 6, 19 NAV) requires grid operators to maintain an online portal. End customers can digitally submit requests for standard household connections—electricity, gas, water, district heating, charging stations, and heat pumps—and monitor progress at any time. ITC PowerCommerce(R) Netz fully complies with these regulations, ensuring efficient digital processes and an intuitive interface that guides users from submission to approval, speeding connections.

From January 2025, network operators must digitize connection requests

Starting January 1, 2025, network operators are required by the new regulations (§ 8 (7) EEG, § 14e (2) EnWG) to digitize connection requests for renewable energy installations, energy storage systems, and refrigeration units. ITC PowerCommerce(R) Netz provides support for automated processing workflows, enabling seamless data exchange with operators. This solution accelerates application handling, minimizes manual interventions, and ensures full compliance with legal requirements, facilitating efficient grid connection procedures.

Flexible Cloud White-Label And On-Premise Solution Integrates With Ease

The software solution is available as a cloud-hosted white-label version and as an on-premise deployment. It seamlessly integrates with existing IT landscapes, adapting to corporate design standards of distribution operators. Through standardized interfaces, it connects diverse data sources and third-party applications. Administrators benefit from consistent user experiences across environments, shorter implementation cycles, and reduced configuration overhead. Flexible provisioning options enable tailored infrastructure strategies that align with operational and compliance requirements.

Installers Self-Register, Submit Requests, Track Status, Report Activations Seamlessly

Qualified contractors can independently register via the installer portal, submit applications on behalf of customers, monitor progress status, and report system activations. This environment empowers technicians with control over administrative procedures by eliminating manual handoffs. Customers and professionals benefit from real-time transparency and efficient coordination during the connection process. By automating data transfer and ensuring uninterrupted workflows between end users and installers, the platform improves collaboration and accelerates project completion.

Empowering customers with self-service: meter readings and document access

Customers gain advantages from self-service features in the portal. They can submit meter readings and update personal information, including address or contact details. Contract and payment data management is automated, allowing users to review, download and archive invoices and documents. Visual representations of photovoltaic renewable installations provide performance insights. Monthly consumption data is delivered in compliance with metering regulations under Section 61 of the Measuring Point Operation Act, ensuring transparency.

Open portal webservices connect chatbots, LoRaWAN, gateways, backend systems

The portals open webservice infrastructure supports integration of diverse communication and IoT endpoints, including chatbots, voice assistants, messaging platforms like WhatsApp metering, and LoRaWAN devices. This extensible framework empowers energy providers to link third-party applications and gateways in a unified environment, enabling automated meter readings, real-time alerts, and two-way interactions. By facilitating seamless data exchange from external sources to core backend systems, it ensures consistent information flow and optimizes operational efficiency.
