Wilms and Logopak Showcase RFID Applications Across Smart Logistics

0

On May 20th, Wilms Supply Chain Technologies and Logopak hosted a workshop themed “RFID @WORK – Discover the Future of Smart Logistics.? More than sixty industry participants joined eight demo stations featuring RAIN RFID applications such as forklift tracking, electronic Kanban replenishment, and real-time location systems. They also gained insights into TRALOSY, a middleware platform that consolidates and visualizes RFID data to support transparent supply chain operations and improved decision-making.

RFID Practicum Begins At Nine With Coffee And Tour

At nine oclock, the RFID practical day commenced with a welcoming networking session attended by over sixty participants. After enjoying coffee, attendees listened to introductory remarks delivered by Katharina Wilms of Wilms Supply Chain Technologies and Steffan Gold from Logopak. Following the speeches, a guided tour of the newly established RFID test center on the Wilms premises provided detailed insights into the events objectives, agenda structure, and live demonstration schedule.

Wilms and Logopak Showcase Eight Live RAIN RFID Stations

At the RFID test center, teams from Wilms and Logopak guided small groups through eight live stations showcasing RAIN RFID solutions. An on-site group leader demonstrated the systems indoor and outdoor capabilities, illustrating tag reading, antenna placement, and data capture principles. Experts highlighted cutting-edge hardware and software to streamline intralogistics workflows, presented use cases, shared best practices for inventory tracking, and answered detailed inquiries about scenarios like automated material replenishment.

Innovative RAIN RFID Solutions Demonstrated Including Forklifts, RTLS, E-Kanban

Demonstrations included forklift-mounted RFID readers that automatically track pallet movements; locating systems employing Bluetooth Low Energy beacons to monitor asset positions; laundry distribution units capturing each garments retrieval; integrated print-and-apply machines printing, encoding, and dispensing labels; electronic Kanban systems leveraging RFID tags to trigger replenishment; high-speed camera arrays reading barcode bundles; wireless temperature-sensing tags ensuring cold-chain visibility; RFID-enabled truck gates logging full trailer loads, RFID-assisted order picking for event materials.

RFID data streams into TRALOSY, transforming supply chain visibility

All captured data streamed in real time into the Wilms middleware TRALOSY, providing a transparent logistics platform. On-site screens and mobile applications, TRALOSY instantly processed reading results, visualized inventory levels and positional data, and simplified crucial decision-making workflows. The demonstration highlighted seamless integration with Logopak printing and application systems, enabling automated labeling operations. Additionally, the systems open architecture facilitated straightforward connectivity to identification technologies, including one-dimensional and two-dimensional barcode readers.

Participants exchange ideas and strategies over lunch and coffee

During the shared lunch and coffee break, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges about individual use cases and optimization strategies. The informal environment encouraged open dialogue, allowing attendees to address challenges while exploring novel solutions. Conversations ranged from technical implementations to operational workflows, fostering mutual learning and perspective sharing. The relaxed atmosphere facilitated professional networking and strengthened collaboration among end-users, project managers and technology providers, setting the stage for future initiatives.

BASF praises praxis-oriented exchange and truly effortless event communication

Representatives from leading industrial organisations commended the events balance between hands-on demonstrations and strategic dialogue. Sven Pointek, speaking for BASF, emphasised how straightforward communication can foster collaboration and accelerate technology adoption. Ralf Dasenbrock of Pöppelmann praised the robustness of Wilms RFID and barcode solutions alongside the high throughput of Logopak equipment. He additionally highlighted Wilms proficiency in both 1D and 2D barcode integration and applauded the events organisational excellence and exemplary catering.

Managing Directors Praise Success; Registration Open For 2026 RFID@Work

Katharina Wilms and Steffan Gold, managing directors of Wilms Supply Chain Technologies and Logopak, expressed satisfaction with the events smooth execution and positive participant feedback. They highlighted that the practical demonstrations and networking opportunities created an effective setting for exploring and solving real-world logistics challenges. With planning under way to repeat RFID@Work – Discover the Future of Smart Logistics in 2026, professionals are encouraged to register now and reserve spot.

Hands-on Day Showcases RAIN RFID And TRALOSY Optimization Technologies

By showcasing hands-on RAIN RFID demonstrations alongside the TRALOSY middleware, the event emphasized efficiency gains in logistics and intralogistics workflows. Attendees experienced real-time RTLS tracking, automated E-Kanban replenishment, and integrated Print-and-Apply labeling systems to confirm operational viability and continuous improvement feedback. Expert presentations combined with collaborative networking sessions created an engaging forum, equipping RFID practitioners with actionable insights and guidance for automated material and information flow optimization in supply chains.
