According to a comprehensive international study on artificial intelligence (AI) conducted by the Institute for Applied Work Sciences (Ifaa), German companies have demonstrated strong proficiency in the implementation of AI. The findings of the research emphasize that manufacturing firms in Germany are at least on par with their international counterparts and even leading in certain domains.
Germany Leads in AI Implementation
Germany is positioned favorably in terms of AI adoption, with 36 percent of surveyed German companies having already implemented at least one AI system, and an additional 37 percent currently planning the introduction of AI. In comparison to participants from Europe, China, and the USA, where 34 percent stated that AI has been implemented and another 39 percent mentioned ongoing implementation or exploration of AI systems, Germany’s progress in this field is noteworthy.
Large enterprises are leading the way in the adoption of AI, with approximately half of the study participants from companies with over 1,000 employees stating that AI is already being used in their organizations. Around 38 percent of these companies are planning to implement AI in the future. In contrast, approximately 65 percent of small businesses with fewer than 50 employees, who participated in the study, indicated that neither the current nor future use of AI is on their agenda.
According to the findings of the IFAA analysis, it is evident that German companies have recognized the benefits of Artificial Intelligence and are actively leveraging its potential, either by utilizing AI systems or by incorporating them into their future plans.
