On the Internet, performance is just as important as security. NETGEAR Armor now presents the new NETGEAR Orbi 860 Series and with it a 10Gig tri-band WLAN mesh system for the broadband network.

NETGEAR Orbi 860 Series: New Speeds for the Broadband Network

NETGEAR Armor is the leading provider of advanced networking solutions, offering products for gaming, streaming applications and smart homes. The Orbi family is now well established and is pleased to announce a new family member: the NETGEAR Orbi 860 Series is released and builds on the 850 Series. This was and is already a bestseller and has won several awards.

The new NETGEAR Orbi 860 series comes with a 10Gig Ethernet port and supports so-called multi-gig Internet connections. Higher WLAN performance thanks to better antenna design as well as the included protection shield against cyberattacks ensures that all devices equipped with it in the home network are perfectly protected.

Future-proof and powerful

The WLAN is being used more and more, so it has to be particularly powerful. Many people work from home, online training courses are used and social networks are operated. The reaction of Internet providers to the increased use of WLAN has been faster Internet speeds. But hackers are also taking many steps forward and now rely on sophisticated attack systems. The NETGEAR Orbi 860 series is the answer and is supposed to make the WLAN a safe place.

Backhaul technology is used here, as well as the latest WiFi 6 tri-band. Buffering is no longer necessary when connecting to different networks, and families also always have the maximum bandwidth of their Internet connection available. On average, there are more than 25 devices in a house, which sometimes use the WLAN simultaneously.

WiFi 5 and Wifi 6 devices can now deliver the best results. The NETGEAR Orbi 860 series is an upgrade from the previous 850 series and focuses on a much better internet connection. From one to ten gigabits, plus a new antenna system: there seems to be no limit to the surfing fun.

Impressive features and more cyber security

The coverage of the 860 series is specified as up to 540 m², and WLAN speeds of up to 6 Gbit/s are said to be possible. Up to 100 devices can be connected simultaneously. The coverage is even expandable if additional Orbi RBS860 satellites are integrated. NETGEAR Armor, in addition to the added performance, also focuses on improved cybersecurity to meet current demands. Users should be helped to better protect their cameras and laptops, phones and tablets. The smart home is also getting an upgrade in cybersecurity.
