Siemens Connect Box – Digital solution for sustainable and healthy buildings:

Siemens Connect Box: Efficient building management without additional gateway or software

The Connect Box from Siemens Smart Infrastructure is an innovative IoT solution that revolutionises the management of small to medium-sized buildings. Through comprehensive monitoring of building performance, energy efficiency can be optimised by up to 30 percent. At the same time, the indoor air quality in schools, retail shops, residential buildings or small offices improves significantly. Siemens Xcelerator helps companies accelerate digital transformation and make it easier to implement. The open digital business platform offers customers a scalable and flexible solution to prepare their business for the future.

The Siemens Connect Box is the ideal solution for building management, as it handles everyday tasks from a single location via a cloud-based interface. The Connect Box is easy to use and requires no additional gateway or software installation. With Connect Box, you can access meaningful building performance information at any time by receiving alerts on potential problems as well as graphs that visualise historical trends. These features help building management quickly identify problems, optimise operations and increase the building’s energy efficiency.

The Connect Box from Siemens offers intuitive online access to building management via desktop or smartphone. Installation of the system is quick and easy via plug-and-play, with no special expertise required. Technicians, facility managers and system integrators can easily set up, configure and operate the system. The Connect Box contains a library of over 500 ready-to-connect field devices from Siemens and third-party suppliers, which is constantly being expanded. An intelligent converter supports 11 standard and proprietary communication protocols for wired and wireless connections, such as LoRaWAN, BACnet, Modbus and KNX, to enable flexible and versatile integration.

IoT – Healthy and emission-free buildings

Volle Transparenz über Innenraumluftqualität durch Siemens IAQ-Multisensor:

Connect Box offers customers a choice of two different licensing models to meet their individual building data management needs. With the cloud licence, customers can securely and easily store their building data in Connect Box’s online database and access it from anywhere. This option is particularly suitable for customers looking for a quick and easy solution. The on-premise licence, on the other hand, allows customers to seamlessly integrate data collected from wired and IoT devices into their existing automation or building management system, or upload it to an external cloud. Both options are administered remotely. In addition, an update option via OTA is available.

Climate neutrality as a target for the building stock by 2050

The EU has set itself the goal of achieving a climate-neutral building stock by 2050. In order to achieve this goal, not only large companies but also small and medium-sized building operators must become active. Energy efficiency and climate neutrality are important factors for the future viability of companies and the protection of the environment. Building automation through IoT-based technologies offers a promising solution here to enable sustainable operation of buildings.

The benefits of IoT-based building solutions go beyond meeting the requirements of a healthy and emission-free building. Thanks to the building management functions of the Connect Box, energy and emission savings of up to 30 percent can be realised. This not only results in cost savings, but also has positive effects on the environment. An investment in an IoT-based building solution is therefore not only technologically sensible, but also economically and ecologically beneficial.
