Dematic has been commissioned by ERAM to automate the 40000 m² distribution center in Chemille-en-Anjou, Maine-et-Loire. This initiative forms part of the fashion divisions modernization strategy, aiming to optimize B2B and B2C warehouse operations. By centralizing the logistics flows for the Gemo, ERAM, Bocage, and Mellow Yellow brands, the project seeks to leverage synergies within the KION Group. Enhanced process efficiency, improved throughput, and scalable architecture underpin this strategic upgrade.

Dematic AutoStores Compact Design Maximizes Storage Density And Expansion

Selecting Dematics AutoStore(TM) system was driven by its compact design, which maximizes storage density within limited warehouse space. By stacking grid structures and utilizing autonomous robots to access inventory, it achieves higher storage capacity per square meter compared to traditional shelving. The systems modular framework supports scalable expansion, enabling additional cells to be seamlessly integrated efficiently in response to rising order volumes without interrupting operations or requiring major infrastructural modifications.

Dematic integrates dual truck container unloading inbound conveyor system

In addition to deploying the AutoStore(TM) system, Dematic equips the inbound area with a dual automatic unloading conveyor featuring two dedicated units for trucks and containers. Following arrival, goods transfer seamlessly onto a parallel conveyor designed specifically for parcel sorting ahead of palletising operations. This end-to-end conveyor network streamlines material handling, greatly diminishes manual handling requirements, reduces labour-intensive tasks, and delivers measurable improvements in throughput, reliability, and overall warehouse productivity.

AutoStore houses 80,000 bins, 84 robots, and sixteen stations

An AutoStore(TM) solution deploying 80,000 storage containers managed by 84 autonomous robots and 16 workstations optimizes stock distribution. Dedicated robotics perform carton opening operations, segregating and storing unsellable items before executing precise order picking tasks. Following retrieval, an integrated packaging station consolidates and seals orders, then automatically transfers them via a conveyor system directly to the dispatch zone. This streamlined configuration significantly reduces processing cycles and enhances overall throughput efficiency.

Dematic WCS Drives All Picking And Fulfillment Processes Precisely

Dematic’s Warehouse Control Software orchestrates every picking and fulfillment operation, enforcing logistical parameters and ensuring adherence to customer satisfaction metrics. By integrating seamlessly with ERAM Group’s existing IT landscape, it provides a unified platform for real-time visibility over inventory movements, order processing, and shipment execution. Automated rule-based workflows guarantee compliance with service level agreements, while consolidated dashboards empower managers with actionable insights enabling proactive decision-making and performance optimization within warehouse activities.

Implementation Phase Progressing Toward Q4 2026 Commissioning with ERAM

The project is already under way in its execution phase, with commissioning slated for the fourth quarter of 2026. Alain Bussod, President of Dematic France, emphasizes the shared commitment to high standards and continuous progress. He stated that partnering with the ERAM Group, a distinguished French family enterprise renowned for its iconic branding, aligns with their mutual aspirations. This collaboration reinforces both companies dedication to quality-driven innovation and future growth.

Dematic’s scalable logistics system enhances ERAM capacity and flexibility

Dematics automated logistics solution integrates a compact AutoStore(TM) configuration, efficient conveyors, and powerful Warehouse Control Software to boost ERAMs storage density. By streamlining material flow, it cuts order processing times and adapts to fluctuating demand with ease. Seamless IT integration offers centralized visibility, while the modular architecture enables future scalability. This comprehensive approach lowers operational costs, enhances reliability, and positions ERAMs fashion supply chain for future, long-term, sustainable, resilient growth.
