Rittal Automation Systems introduces the Wire Terminal WT L, an automated wire processing machine designed for small and mid-sized switchgear builders. Based on the WT C platform, this compact solution occupies just two square meters while maintaining process security and quality akin to larger models. Featuring twelve-wire feeding and single output, the WT L accelerates production by up to eleven times, amortizing investment after supporting 150 control cabinets per year.

Built on the proven Wire Terminal WT C platform, the WT L occupies just two square meters of floor space. Consolidating its setup into a 12-wire feed mechanism and a single wire output system reduces complexity. This lean configuration keeps capital investment within reach for small and medium electrical manufacturers. Its minimized footprint allows integration into compact production facilities, enabling automated cable assembly processes without requiring major facility upgrades or expansions.

WT L offers elevenfold increase automated wire assembly output

The Wire Terminal WT L boosts wire processing speeds up to elevenfold compared to traditional manual techniques. Automated length cutting, labeling, and precision crimping deliver time savings and diminish error rates. By streamlining these operations, overall production throughput improves while operational costs decrease. Facilities fabricating one hundred fifty control enclosures annually, each containing five hundred wires, can anticipate a full return on investment in roughly two and a half years.

WT L5 feeds five cross-section pots, WT L10 ten

With five feed pots, the Wire Terminal WT L5 accommodates conductor cross-sections from 0.5 to 2.5 mm², while the WT L10 integrates ten feed pots for sizes between 0.5 and 6 mm². Both units channel wires through a five-stage rail system, funnel them into a chain bundler, or feed directly into the optional Wire Handling feeder unit. This flexibility streamlines integration, enabling transitions between automated processing steps and handling requirements production environments.

WT L integrates Eplan data, powering automated wire processing

By importing comprehensive wiring data directly from Eplan, the WT L automatically leverages its digital twin to control precise cutting, labeling, and crimping operations. This seamless integration ensures accuracy by synchronizing physical production steps with the virtual design model. Furthermore, the system can connect to Eplan Smart Production, the RiPanel Processing Center, and the Wire Handling System, enabling end-to-end digital workflows and real-time monitoring for seamless, efficient control cabinet manufacturing.

Rittal Automation Systems’ Wire Terminal WT L lowers the barrier to fully automated wire processing for small and medium switchgear manufacturers. Compact and cost-effective, it combines automated cutting, marking, and crimping on a space-saving platform, ensuring consistent process quality and elevenfold production acceleration. Seamless integration with Eplan digital twins enables precise data transfer. Suitable in tight production areas, it delivers significant time savings, heightened operational reliability, and rapid immediate return-on-investment realization.
