Software company Microsoft and Spanish telecommunications provider Telefonica Tech have set out to equip public administrations with better technology for monitoring and encrypting sensitive processes.

In their cooperation, Microsoft (ME) and Telefonica Tech (Tt) have set themselves the goal of offering public administrations in the EU, but also interested companies, more secure environments in products such as Microsoft Azure, ME 365 and ME Dynamics 365. These hybrid clouds are intended to ensure greater compliance with Eu data protection and security requirements in the processing of confidential data in the future.

The software giant is already able to offer its users very high security standards in the solutions it has developed. For example, the company can boast National Security Scheme (ENS) certification for Microsoft 365, Dynamics and Azure. In addition, ME made a voluntary commitment not to share personal data from administrative sources with third parties. This intention is supported by its announcement that data collected in Europe will only be processed within the EU and not transferred overseas, as is usually the case.

Telefonica Tech: Service provider for installation and consulting.

As part of this partnership, the Spanish-based communications company has agreed to provide consulting, installation and maintenance services for Microsoft cloud services at administrations and companies. In doing so, it will also always keep an eye on its own and Eu security requirements, as well as customer needs and the flawless functionality of the facilities.

While for the U.S. developer, the development, securing and further distribution of its cloud technology is at the top of the agenda. To this end, the Spaniards will also offer customers of Microsoft offerings complementary services that are intended to work toward this endeavor. In addition to the identification and defense against possible threats from the digital space, intelligent solutions for the management, support and monitoring of all infrastructure will also be used, for example. But the portfolio also includes consulting services tailored specifically to users with regard to the design, installation and handling of the systems. For example, in relation to the interested defense sector, this can also mean specialized adaptations for security and operating issues.
