Pepperl+Fuchs: Reliable detection of wrapped objects with the R202 series

0

The new R202 series by Pepperl+Fuchs offers optoelectronic sensors in a compact cubical design, specifically designed for the needs of warehouse and conveyor technology. These sensors focus on essential basic functions, such as a simple switching function and red light LEDs, resulting in cost savings and simplified product selection. With five functional principles available in a standardized housing concept, including one-way light barriers, reflection light barriers, and transparent object detection, the R202 series provides versatile solutions for a wide range of applications in warehouse and conveyor technology.

Efficient detection of wrapped pallets using a transparent recognition reflection light barrier

The transparent detection photoelectric sensor is specially designed to detect pallets wrapped in film in pallet conveyor technology. These pallets, with their reflective surfaces, often pose a challenge to conventional sensors. However, the transparent detection photoelectric sensor eliminates blind spots and provides excellent detection capabilities for film-wrapped objects.

Enhanced stability with integrated metal bushings

The R202 series sensors are equipped with integrated full metal bushings, which provide higher tightening torques due to their high mechanical stability. This ensures a long-term secure and stable installation, making them ideal for robust applications in warehouse and conveyor technology.

The Series R202 offers a flexible mounting option with a combination of standard bores and elongated holes. This allows for both horizontal and vertical installation. The standard bores also enable the sensors to be used with common mounting brackets, making the Series R202 compatible with the R201 series from Pepperl+Fuchs. This means that the same mounting accessories can be used when installing both series in a system, simplifying the installation process.

The sensors of the R202 series are suitable for applications that require alternating current. They come with an optional AC/DC power supply with a voltage range of 24…240 V, making them versatile for various uses such as building automation, access control, and the US market. Compared to traditional devices, the AC variants of the R202 series have a significantly smaller footprint, allowing for easy integration in space-constrained environments.

The R202 series offers a range of optimized products with essential features and a cost-efficient design. The transparency detection variant ensures reliable detection of objects wrapped in film. The integrated metal bushings ensure a robust operation in warehouse and conveyor technology. The flexible mounting option, with numerous mounting holes, and the space-saving AC variants make the R202 series an ideal solution for a wide range of applications. Overall, the R202 series provides an optimal solution for warehouse and conveyor technology that is easy to install, reliable, and cost-efficient.
