Vodafone has successfully launched a new 5G+ mobile network station in Neuruppin, on Wichmann Straße, marking a significant milestone in the “5G for Landkreis Ostprignitz-Ruppin” infrastructure project. This deployment aims to enhance the existing mobile network and provide 5G and 5G+ coverage to the entire population by 2025.

Rapid growth in mobile data traffic drives Vodafone’s expansion plans

The rapid growth of mobile data traffic in the district, with an annual growth rate of over 30 percent, is driven by the increasing usage of mobile internet by people for various purposes such as social media browsing, HD video streaming, and live streaming of cultural and sports events like the Bundesliga and Champions League. To meet this high demand, Vodafone is planning to implement four additional mobile network construction projects in the district to close coverage gaps and enhance the existing network.

The Advantages of 5G for Internet Users

5G is a revolutionary mobile broadband technology that offers incredibly fast data transfer speeds, allowing customers to browse the internet and utilize mobile broadband services with unparalleled efficiency. This advancement not only enhances the quality of life for individuals, but also plays a crucial role in boosting the local economy by enabling businesses to operate seamlessly and efficiently in an increasingly digital world.

5G+ revolutionizes industries and improves daily life

The introduction of 5G+ technology promises a revolutionary transformation in the way industries operate and enhances the quality of our daily lives. With its nearly instantaneous data transfer capabilities, 5G+ opens up possibilities for connected vehicles, eliminating traffic congestion and accidents. Moreover, the field of telemedicine can benefit from new services that were previously unimaginable. Not limited to the automotive industry, transportation, and healthcare sectors, the potential of 5G+ extends to areas such as agriculture, education, machinery, logistics, shipping, and numerous other industries.

Vodafone expands existing mobile network in Ostprignitz-Ruppin

Vodafone is not only focusing on the development of the 5G network but also on expanding its existing mobile network in the district. Currently, 99.9% of the population is connected to the Vodafone mobile network, and 98.6% can access the LTE mobile broadband network for their data services. By mid-2024, Vodafone plans to further expand the 5G network and implement two construction projects in the existing mobile network to close coverage gaps and enhance broadband capacities and speeds. This will greatly benefit communities like Neuruppin and Wittstock/Dosse.

Vodafone’s Mobile Stations Support Advanced Mobile Location

All Vodafone mobile base stations in the district support the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency technology as well as the new Cell Broadcast disaster warning system. AML automatically transmits the caller’s location to the emergency control center when dialing “112,” enabling responders to quickly locate the scene of the incident. Through the Cell Broadcast technology, nearby individuals are alerted via their smartphones about dangers such as major fires, gas explosions, floods, and other disasters.

Vodafone Expands 5G Network to Boost Communication Speeds

The expansion of the 5G network and 5G+ network in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district brings numerous benefits to the population and the economy. With faster data transfer rates and virtually lag-free communication, new possibilities arise for various industries. At the same time, the existing mobile network is being expanded to close coverage gaps and increase broadband capacity. The support of the AML emergency call technology and the Cell Broadcast disaster warning system also ensures greater safety in the region.
